MOVE- Apply Pressure For Your Purpose

MOVE- Apply Pressure For Your Purpose

I woke up one morning convinced that I simply wasn’t doing enough. All of the desires, goals and dreams kept coming but never seeming to manifest into what I was hoping for.

God spoke one word to me, MOVE. Now that didn’t mean I was going to pack up my whole house, family and dog and suddenly disappear. It meant that I had to put some action behind my goals.

Move is an action word, the definition according to Webster is:

·  The act of moving; change of place or posture

In order for anything to change you have to change. I couldn’t expect for my life to be different if I was comfortable with sitting on the sideline just hoping that something great would happen.

I had to MOVE, I had to apply pressure.

If you have ever watched the first steps that a baby takes as they are learning to walk then you will remember that the steps are slow in the beginning. But as they gain more confidence in this new found movement the steps gradually pick up.

This same method we should use throughout our lives, we have to be consistent and persistent with our goals. I’m convinced that if you really want something to happen then you won’t stop until it happens. The greatest athletes in the world didn’t become great overnight. They had to put some movement behind their desire to be the best. Oprah didn't stop at just being a news anchor, she kept moving despite the trials that she faced in her life and is now notably one of the richest women in the world. She didn't let up on her goals.

All of the people that you admire and look up to, they invested their time into their crafts, they were consistent and persistent.

I’m sure everyone is familiar with the scripture; “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26). If we talk about how much we love God, we believe in Him, etc. but our actions don’t line up, then that is dead faith. The same with any goals that you’re pursuing, if you just talk about it but you don’t initiate any type of movement behind it then that is just a dead goal.

My mood for 2018 is to apply pressure.

We are in a season where doors are opening up all around us, 1 Corinthians 16:9 says, because a great door for effective work has opened to me.

Okay, so here we see that the door has opened for great work to be done, BUT it continues on to say, “and there are many adversaries.

So when we think about adversaries we immediately think about all of our “haters”. The people who we think don’t want to see us win. What if you are your own adversary keeping you from getting to that open door? Fear, procrastination, disorganization, lack of drive those are all internal adversaries. See we are always so busy looking at outside adversaries that we tend to neglect the ones on the inside of us that need some help finding the exit out of our lives.

Don’t be the reason you can’t move! God is opening doors for us and we have to be focused, persistent and consistent to walk through those doors. Let’s MOVE!

When you finally realize that nothing great happens within your comfort zone and you actually take the initiative to do something about it, that’s when you WIN!
